Natural, Sustainable, Nearby:
Regional and seasonal foods
The call for regional food from traceable, sustainable production is getting louder and louder. Especially in cities, where people rely on supermarkets, there are more and more opportunities to get sustainable, animal-friendly, high-quality food through urban farm stores and cooperatives as well. Regular supermarkets are also expanding their range with more regional products.
Eating sustainably and with a clear conscience is becoming easier and easier – and you don’t have to do without good taste.

Q Cafe at Quartier Zukunft
Our Q Café focuses on regional ingredients and local preparation: for example, with the “EarthWeek” menus with a particularly low CO2 footprint. When it comes to our suppliers, we prefer partners and manufacturers from Berlin. And we also produce locally – fresh and entirely on demand.
Straight up delicious: Crooked fruit and vegetables
We also use so-called “crooked” vegetables: impeccable food that does not quite meet the external standard and would therefore normally be thrown away. We “saved” 82,606 kilograms of fruit and vegetables this way in 2019 alone.
RECUP
In Germany, around 2.8 billion disposable cups for Coffee to Go are used and thrown away every year. That’s 320,Ω000 cups per hour. All of these cups end up in the trash, on streets and in waterways.
At Quartier Zukunft, we will take a (small) step towards environmental protection from now on and thus change our future. Therefore, from now on, there will be no more disposable cups in our Q-Café. Instead, we will rely on RECUP. The deposit system for reusable cups. The lifetime of a Recup cup corresponds to approx. 500 disposable cups and is 100% recyclable at the end of its life.
